the micro cabin in roberts creek

40 MIN FERRY RIDE FROM VANCOUVER TO THE SUNSHINE COAST OF BC

Located in Roberts Creek, our homestead is one of the oldest on the Sunshine Coast. We live on the property in the original log farmhouse that was built in 1926 for the area's first school teacher. We love everything about the Sunshine Coast and look forward to sharing our slice of paradise with you.

ROBERTS CREEK IS A

whimsical ocean-side haven

full of nature lovers, artists, and forward thinkers. If you consider yourself any of these, you'll fit right in around here!

The micro cabin is located halfway between Gibsons and Sechelt, making it a perfect home base to explore the Sunshine Coast from. The ocean and the hobbit village of Roberts Creek are just two minutes away!

Although we are within walking distance to shopping and cafes, we are also tucked far enough away in the trees to feel secluded and relaxed. There is a quiet beach at the bottom of our road that is perfect for late summer evening dips.

things to do on the coast:

There are lots of activities, attractions, and culture on the Sunshine Coast. If you are a fan of the outdoors, there’s a nice hike at Smuggler Cove, a steep (but short) hike to see a terrific view at Soames Point in Gibsons, and Cliff Gilker Park has many scenic nature trails. Despite the mild winters on the coast, there is even snowshoeing up on Dakota Ridge! You can visit museums or take a self-guided tour of art studios and galleries. Rent a kayak or explore farmers markets (including the Wednesday market at the Roberts Creek Hall). Visiting the shíshálh Nation tems swiya Museum is a lovely way to spend a rainy afternoon.

Another neat thing to do is to venture all the way to the end of the peninsula to see some of the world’s biggest standing waves at the Skookumchuck Narrows. Stop by the Iris Griffith Nature Centre on the way, or get some great burgers and sushi up in Madeira Park. The best sockeye fish and chips is sold through our local fisherman at Sharkey’s Fish Locker, just up the street. End the day with a visit to Persephone Brewery, Banditry Cider, Brickers Cider, or Sunday Cider. Or, if you’re feeling cozy and just want to relax, grab a bottle of wine from the General Store or make a mug of hot tea, wrap yourself in a soft blanket, and dive into a good book. The micro cabin is a toasty little refuge that is yours to snuggle down and deeply chill.
